Pottery and Patio Shop Now Closed

Made the decision yesterday to close up the Absinthe Minded Pottery and Patio Shop and put the parcel up for sale ... it was a fun 2 years, but I'm preferring doing graphics and event stuffs and just no longer have the time to pay attention to my little shop ... Thanks to all who purchased items from my store ... and you never know, it is SL, I just may open up shop again one day ... Leezu Baxter show at MAD on Saturday, July 12th

I will be in the LBD Fashion Show this Saturday, July 12th at 3pm SLT ... I loooooooove Leezu Baxter's work and I love the outfits that Leezu dropped on me for the show! If you get a chance on Saturday, drop on by! The runway and room are done in a 1920's retro motif ... and as usual, it looks awesome ... even has a moving sky on the ceiling (Ooooooo!!!).

First, I was chosen as a pre-finalist for the 2009 Miss SL Universe (yay!!), I am now Xochi Tolsen's assistant for Studio Red/part of the Costa Rica Sims Staff (Studio Red is a photography studio and events planning company, which now also coordinates all events/parties for the Costa Rica sims), and I will be in Ewing's 2008 Fashion Show tomorrow.

Wooooooot!

Been a little quiet lately, many of my SL friends know that I lost a very important member of my RL life a few days ago... my very best friend of 12 years, Scooter, my little bichon frise. He had a degnerative nerve in his spine and he was in alot of pain (along with arthritis). Broke my heart that he would fall to the ground and could not get back up. He could not sleep, would start to wander off to dark corners of my home and could not eat and would cry out in pain all the time...I had to make the very hard decision to put him to sleep, I was with him in his final moments. I felt really guilty, like maybe there was something else I could have done, but all my family and friends assure me that it was the best thing I could have done for him...that it would have been selfish on my part to keep him like that (which I agree).

Just very hard for me to know that he won't be coming around the corner anymore ... to greet me when I come home, and he was my little "police man" around my home and would never leave my side and would always lick my cheek whenever I was sick or sad. He was my very best friend and I know I'll never find a little guy quite like him for the rest of my days. He was "my" dog and if there was a place where he was not welcome, I didn't enter either. Love you Scooter ... I know that when the time comes for me to leave this earth, you'll be the first one bounding towards to me doing your little "happy run around". Kisses.

It's official! At the Dark Eden Party last night, it was announced that I am the January Dark Eden Girl of the Month! I've been informed that I am now in the running for Dark Eden Girl of the Year 2008! Woooooot!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Mini Pavillion and Sitting Area

Hi Everyone and a belated Happy New Year to you and yours! Yes, I know I've promised to blog more often, but I've been busy, I swear! Okay, THAT and I've been hitting the ETD hair sale and gearing up for the Last Call Sale later on this week ... not to mention I've been accepted into Ewing Fashion Agency Model Training Program (squee!).

Anyways, I've also been creating some pretty neat things on the side ... and here are a few ...

First off, I've always LOVED some of the Persian/Mid-East textures that I see in builds in SL ... I finally decided to run on over to Textures R Us and buy a set and get to work on what I call a "mini" Persian Pavillion:

It contains a sculpy fountain and 3 "pools" and has running walls of water falling at all sides (except for a section on the back, which gives it an "open" look, but still gives you some privacy). Just add in your favorite poses, add in some cushions / firepit, potted plants or other furniture and you're good to go! OR, add in some couple dance balls and you can have a romantic little dance retreat! If you look, you can see me inside the pavillion ... just to give you an idea of the size! I had alot of fun texturing this, come on by the Skyridge location and check it out before you buy! I think you'll really like the textures! I may even do a bigger version of this in the future with a couple more goodies for you to enjoy in your garden!

Up next is a piece inspired by garden areas that aren't that large, low on prims, but with privacy in mind ... all the while you have the ability to fill up with pretty plants ( used the Lindens low prim ferns as examples), have a soothing fountain, a pretty peacock stained glass window and a seating area!

Add in your favorite poses and maybe some patio lights and you're set! Don't like the texture? No problem! this item is modifiable, so just retexture it to match your build!

Remember, I've got a ton of free plants and flowers at my Skyridge shop (that I collected from my wanderings around SL), so pick up a few!

That's it for now ... I've got to run off to begin my first day of fashion model training (still squealing with delight over that). But when I get a chance, I'll start posting up pics of some of the other little things I've been creating on and off since I last blogged.
